Terms of Service

1. Welcome
Yours & Mine ("we", "us") is a peer-to-peer marketplace that helps neighbors rent everyday items to each other. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
3. The marketplace
We are a platform — we don't own, inspect, or insure the items listed. Owners ("lenders") set their own prices, availability, and rules. Renters ("borrowers") are responsible for using items as agreed and returning them in the same condition. Disputes between users are between those users; we may help mediate but are not a party to any rental agreement.
4. Your listings and content
You retain ownership of what you post, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote it on the service. You promise that your listings are accurate, lawful, and that you have the right to rent the item out.
5. Prohibited items and conduct
Don't list weapons, illegal goods, hazardous materials, anything requiring a license you don't have, or anything that infringes someone else's rights. Don't harass other users, manipulate reviews, or try to circumvent the platform's fees or messaging.
6. Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel a booking from your dashboard at any time before it's marked complete. Refunds depend on who cancels and how close to the rental start date:
- Before payment (request still pending or accepted but unpaid): full cancellation, no charge.
- Renter cancels 48+ hours before start: 100% of the rental fee and 100% of the security deposit are refunded. The 10% service fee is non-refundable.
- Renter cancels 24–48 hours before start: 50% of the rental fee and 100% of the deposit are refunded. The service fee and shipping are non-refundable.
- Renter cancels under 24 hours before start, or doesn't show: the rental fee, service fee, and shipping are non-refundable. The deposit is still returned in full.
- Owner cancels (any time before completion): the renter receives a full refund of everything — rental, service fee, shipping, and deposit.
Security deposits are returned within a few days of the rental ending unless the owner files a damage claim within 72 hours of return. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear in 5–10 business days.
6a. Damage and disputes
If something goes wrong, contact the other party first; if you can't resolve it, reach out to us and we'll help where we can.
7. No warranties
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform or any rental transaction.
8. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material we'll let you know. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
